Here at the Spartanburg Salt Cave our goal is to mimic the environment inside a mine. In the 19th century, Polish researchers noticed that salt miners were not having the same severe respiratory ailments that other types of miners were, most notably coal miners, this prompted a closer look at salt miners. As it turned out not only were the salt miners healthier than their colleagues, they were actually healthier than the general public. This was observed again during World War II. Many of the Eastern European salt mines were used as bomb shelters, sometimes housing people for days on end. When they came out of the salt caves, many experienced easier breathing, especially those with asthma. In the 1960's Halotherapy started gaining traction in Europe and has since started spreading around the globe, just now making its way to upstate South Carolina in the form of the Spartanburg Salt Cave. 

Spartanburg Salt Cave’s therapy room can hold 5 people at a time. While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend having an appointment to ensure you get a spot. You’ll enjoy a 45-minute session, during which salt air will be pumped into the room to aid with respiratory and skin ailments. You can see results from minor discomforts in one to eight sessions, while more than a dozen sessions are recommended for positive results. The Spartanburg Salt Cave can most definitely help you! Check to see if you have one of the more common illnesses which salt can help relieve on our Symptoms page. If your condition is not listed, that's OK. This is just a list of some of the more common conditions known to do well with Halotherapy and does not mean we cannot help you too. 

No special clothing is required. You can come in wearing shorts and a tank top or long sleeves and pants. If you are trying to see benefits from respiratory conditions, clothing choice does not matter. With skin conditions we recommend having more skin exposed, especially if you can expose the affected area. However, clothing is required as it is a group room. The temperature is a steady 72 ⁰ F, so you won't get hot or sweaty. We do provide blankets, just in case you get cool.

We'd love to know you're coming before hand, but if you forget or can't give us a call we'll take you as long as the session is not full. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your desired session time. Sessions start every hour, on the hour. 

Yes! We love having parties and other large groups in. Our salt room holds 5 comfortably and 8 if you're willing to get cozy on the floor. Call and ask us about group rates and party packages.

**We are now allowing multiple parties in salt cave experiences. If you would like a private session the appointment must be reserved as a regular price payment wth out discount or promotion  plus a $15 per person fee. Any promotional or regular priced salt cave experience is subject to a community session unless the additional fee is paid during reservation. **

A Day At The Salt Cave is a  package that includes 1 service + 1 Salt Cave Experience + Lunch and Wine.  Any party of 3 or more requires 18% gratuity. All reservations require payment in full at the time of reservation. If you have any questions, please call us at 864-707-2353. 

**All gift certificates require a credit card to secure your appointment. No charges will be placed on the card unless there is a no call/no show or same day cancellation. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Appointments may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to your appointment with no fee. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours or less of your appointment time will not be refunded. Re-scheduling requests for any service with a same day cancellation is a $25.00 charge per person.  Any appointment re-scheduled same day with Dr. Sherian Wells is a $50 fee to re-schedule.  No call or attendance for appointments will forfeit all rescheduling opportunities and refunds. All sales are final. 

All Gift Cards Must Be Present to Redeem. If you have lost or a gift card was stolen, no credit will be given. All sales on gift cards are final. All cards are to be treated as cash. No replacements are granted for lost/stolen gift cards. No exceptions. All gift cards and certificates expire 1 year after the issue date.

• Not responsible for lost or stolen certificates.

• Representative will accept cash or credit card payments only, no checks will be accepted. 
• Gift Certificates Cannot Be Use to Purchase Promotion

• If any dispute, of any nature arises between Company and customer/Purchaser that results in litigation between parties, the customer agrees to pay all expenses including attorney's fees and costs incurred by the company as a result of such dispute.

   Salt Cave Saunas combine the benefits of traditional infrared saunas, with the healing properties of Himalayan salt. In use, they work just like a sauna.

  We ask that you wear a swim wear or work out attire to your Salt Cave Sauna experience.
